Trail mix – the secret super snack

If you have read the report on fats you should now understand that eating fats is essential to weight loss, but only if they are the right fats.
Seeds are a fantastic way of getting in the right amounts of Omega 6. One of the best ways is to create a pack of trail mix.

Trail mix consists of a mixture of Almonds, unsweetened dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds. I usually make this weekly and have it for a midmorning snack at about 10.30. It’s pre-prepared, tastes great and will take away cravings for fat later in the day.

The only thing missing from this mix of seeds is flaxseed or linseed, this is a little small to be included in the trail mix and I usually grind it up and put it into my morning shake. It’s important for your Omega-3 oils.

Here are the amounts you need to make:

* 10grams - Unsweetened Dried Cranberries
* 10grams - Almonds
* 10grams - Pumkin Seeds
* 10grams - Sunflower Seeds
* 10grams - Sesame Seeds

This mixture is just over 250 calories and is a very easy snack.
